Tackling fine lines and dark spots

Tackling fine lines and dark spots

Fine lines and dark spots are nothing to be ashamed about as they are all part of the natural process of ageing. With age comes wisdom, and there is nothing embarrassing about noticing skin texture changes and appearance or formation of wrinkles.

Fine lines, dark spots and wrinkles usually occur on areas that get the most sun exposure, such as the face and neck. As skin cells divide in a slower manner as age catches up, it affects the ability for skin to hold onto moisture and slows collagen production, which causes wrinkles and decreased skin elasticity.

Although we advocate for each of us to embrace ageing, there are still ways to help you rebuild your confidence through multi-tasking products that target skin issues and concerns that you may face.

#1 Incorporate antioxidants

Antioxidants also contain potent anti-ageing properties, and are found in the forms of Vitamins A, C and E. They can help iron out the appearance of wrinkles, and even fade hyperpigmentation. On the whole, antioxidants can help neutralise free radicals which are responsible for visible signs of ageing.

Using Tea-Tox 20% Probiotics Sheet Mask which contains Yuzu extracts that are rich in Vitamin C can help brighten skin complexion and stimulate collagen production, all the while preventing radical damage and reducing effects of ageing!

Another great mask option that you can stack safely would be Dream Capsule Overnight Sleeping Mask, as it contains bakuchiol, a natural antioxidant that visibly reduces dark spots and hyperpigmentation caused by environmental exposure. It also helps decrease the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, as well as a potent soothing effect on skin!

#2 Use an eye cream

Although some may deem eye creams as the least essential product you require in your routine, we beg to differ otherwise. Eye creams, when chosen correctly, can help with lifting up the entire appearance, including making you seem more lively and awake.

Opting for an all-in-one eye cream like Gentle Gaze is the best option you can have - with a built-in metal tip applicator and premium ingredients like Korean Red Ginseng, Gentle Gaze has potent anti-ageing properties that give reduce crow’s feet around the eyes, and can also reduce fine lines around the nose and neck regions!

#3 Continue using sunscreen

If you haven’t already been using sunscreen, now is still a good chance to start incorporating them into your routine. We cannot emphasise enough on how important a sunscreen is to help with hyperpigmentation, formation of wrinkles, and preventing premature ageing in general. When started early, sunscreen can help protect your skin against harmful UV rays that can cause free radicals and speed up the process of ageing.

We would recommend a gentle sunscreen like Morning Glow Physical Sunscreen that causes less reactivity for sensitive skin types, and its ability to physically block and deflect UV rays instead of being absorbed into the bloodstream is also a major plus point. With clinically actives like ceramides, adenosine and niacinamide, they help with brightening complexion, decreasing hyperpigmentation and appearance of fine lines.
